COVER REVEAL!
TART
By Syd Sikora
In a small town like Sweetleaf, Georgia, gossip is gospel.
TART is a queer, Southern Gothic erotica (the first in the EX APPEAL trilogy) that deals with the tangle of identity and family in religious small-town America, reminding us of how sometimes when we’re looking everywhere for ourselves, we find ourselves in other people, for better or worse.
The story follows LEXI and JUDE as they fall in love in Sweetleaf, Georgia, eventually run away, and burn the world down behind them in their pursuit to be everything for each other. It's a love story and a slow descent into madness.
genres: Southern gothic, erotica, LGBTQ
audience: 18+. Contains graphic gore, allusions to childhood and adult SA trauma, strong language, and graphic sexual content.

Author note - SYD SIKORA explains their life experience and their intention with this book series:
"Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is a coping mechanism where the brain splits separate, distinct personalities (alters) to protect underdeveloped, young minds from trauma. A collection of alters in one body is called a system.
Syd Sikora is literally several systems in a singletsona (a collective identity), and speaking as such, we can tell you: media stigma complicates nearly every aspect of our lives.
Erotic thrillers and horror are especially guilty of implying an association between danger and folx with DID. They tend to promote gender panic and transphobia entwined with plurality ala PSYCHO and DRESSED TO KILL, where queer and neurodivergent villains overlap.
Plurality, specifically, feels quite inherently queer—you'll almost never encounter someone with DID/OSDD whose system is entirely of one gender or sexuality. This is why we want to introduce you to our novel, TART."
